Dinesh Khanna

Traversing categories of “commercial” and “fine art”, Dinesh Khanna’s photographs for advertising, editorial, and corporate clients and his diverse portfolios of personal work reflect life lived in a major metropolitan city, New Delhi, as well as the “other Indias” he seeks out on his travels to rural areas, melas, bazaars, and sacred sites. His advertising work specializing in areas of food, still-life, interiors, and portraiture includes the stunning “Incredible India” series created to celebrate the 350th anniversary of the Taj Mahal. Portfolios of personal work include “Mothers and Daughters”, “Artists, Musicians, Writers”, “Earning Dignity”, as well as monthly columns “Double Take” and “Urban Trivia” which offer shrewd commentary that affectionately critique India’s “tryst with urbanity”. He has published two pictorial books “Living Faith” and “Bazaar” and has exhibited his work in solo and group exhibition nationally and internationally, including The Habitat Center, India International Center, Palette Gallery, Vadehra Gallerry, New Delhi, Oxford Gallery, Kolkata, NCPA, Mumbai, Sundaram Tagore Gallery, New York, The Asia Society, San Francisco, Mondavi Center, UCLA, Los Angeles, Whitechapel Gallery, London, Fotomuseum, Switzerland.

Khanna is co-founder and managing trustee of the Nazar Foundation, a non-profit trust that aims to promote the photographic arts through interactions, exhibitions, publishing, and workshops and sponsors the biennial “Delhi Photo Festival”.

i love the way Dinesh Khanna speaks with an open heart, just what he feels is what he expresses not just vocally but the same comes through in his images too. I love his work, got loads to learn from him.
